Our Story & Our Team

A Message from our Founder:

Crea8’s foundations were laid when I started my MPhil and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Cambridge in 2001; and where I continued to be an Assistant Professor. To date, I remain as a Fellow in Finance at the University.

Having just qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001, academic research was such that I had to learn to code, download and clean data and manage research projects all by myself. This was a time when behavioural finance and fundamental equity valuation models were in vogue; freelancers were hard to come by and society had yet to latch on to artificial intelligence or quant investing.

The foundation was further strengthened with my move to be a proprietary trader at Credit Suisse in London – an opportunity which opened the possibility of implementing many of the academic findings in the real world. This experience was unfortunately jolted when Lehman Brothers collapsed in 2008, triggering a financial crisis similar to how Covid-19 impacted the markets.

Fast forward to today, Crea8 carries 8 core values which embody what we believe in and offer, and I am delighted to share our journey with you.

I want to end by thanking my family, our advisors, all clients, friends and colleagues, current and in the past, Cammillion, the innovative technology powering Crea8, the regulators and our broker partner for getting us here. Without you, there is no Crea8 and we look forward to sharing more in the future.

Yours sincerely

Kim-Hwa
