Goal based investing is an investment approach that that emphasizes investing with the objective of attaining specific life goals such as saving for children’s education or building a retirement nest-egg, rather than focusing on generating the highest possible portfolio return or beating the market.
Our goal based investing service allows you to select one of our our thematic portfolios to invest in and add a level of customisation to make it yours.
An investment plan is a guide for you to achieve your financial goals. The process of coming up with a financial plan for you involves your financial goals with your financial resources. We recommend Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) as the investment vehicle of choice as they are diversified, have low fees and traded on the stock exchange.
An investment strategy is a basket of stocks created to represent an investment theme. An investment strategy can be a goal or factor based thematic strategy. You can choose from one of our pre-optimised strategies or you can design your own strategy.
Factor based investing is an investment style that involves selecting stocks with attributes that are associated with higher returns. For example, low Price-to-Earnings, low Price-to-Book Value or high Earnings Per Share stocks.
Our factor based investing service allows you to select one of our thematic portfolios and make it yours by overlaying various factors. You can adopt our pre-selected factors or create your own combinations.
The Advisory service advises you on your investments using our proprietary algorithm, a wide array of fundamental factors and big data analytics. You can adopt our pre-optimised strategies, modify them or design it entirely on your own.
The Analytics service lets you build your own strategy using our stocks and funds screener; and big data analytics.
Both services are available in Goal based and Factor based thematic investing.
Portfolio rebalancing is the practice of adjusting the composition of a portfolio to its optimal composition by buying/selling specific assets. Rebalancing is important as it makes sure that you stick to your original investment strategy in order to meet your goal / investment style and ensures that the mix of your portfolio’s asset class does not drift and incur undue risk.
Yes, it is. If you choose to automate, we will place “cut loss” and “take profit” orders on your behalf until you rebalance your portfolio next. If you prefer to do it manually, we will remind you by email to do so.
Yes, you can. When you buy, Crea8 will automatically convert from your base currency at the market rate to the non-base currency, the amount needed for settlement only. This would prevent you from incurring a loan in non-base currency. Likewise, when you sell, Crea8 will automatically convert your net proceeds at the market rate from non-base currency back to your base currency.
Your money is held in segregated client accounts with the custodian, Interactive Brokers (IB). This means that your money and portfolio assets are fully segregated from Crea8 and you can enjoy full protection in the unlikely event of Crea8’s or IB’s insolvency. IB, our partner broker/custodian, is regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission to provide such services. IB is also regulated in the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong and India. Your relationship with the custodian will be governed by a separate custody/brokerage agreement.
Your securities accounts at IB are protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) for a maximum coverage of USD 500,000 (with a cash sublimit of USD 250,000) and under IB’s excess SIPC policy with certain underwriters at Lloyd’s of London for up to an additional USD 30 million (with a cash sublimit of USD 900,000) subject to an aggregate limit of USD 150 million.
