Portfolio Management

No, Crea8 does not. But we will route your securities transactions electronically to our partner broker, Your relationship our partner broker will be governed by a separate agreement between yourself and the broker.

When you purchase or sell a strategy, we will immediately place the orders with our partner broker for each individual security the strategy contains. If the market is open, the orders will be executed. If the market is closed, then it will be queued in the system and will be executed when the market opens.

Portfolio rebalancing is the practice of adjusting the composition of a portfolio to its optimal composition by buying/selling specific assets. Rebalancing is important as it makes sure that you stick to your original investment strategy in order to meet your goal / investment style and ensures that the mix of your portfolio’s asset class does not drift and incur undue risk.

If you set your strategy or plan to rebalance automatically, then we will rebalance it and notify you. If you have chosen to rebalance manually, then we will remind you when it is time to rebalance. Then you will have to log in and click on the “Rebalance” button.

Yes, you can. To do this, log in to your account > click “Overview” then choose the strategy that you have invested in. Then, click “View Strategy Details” > click “Edit Strategy”. In the “Overall Investment Style” tab, you will be able to change how often the strategy is rebalanced and whether it is rebalanced manually or automatically.

Yes, you can. To do this, log in to your account > click “Advice” then choose a particular investment plan. Then click ‘Rebalance‘.

Yes, it is. If you choose to automate, we will place “cut loss” and “take profit” orders on your behalf until you rebalance your portfolio next. If you prefer to do it manually, we will remind you by email to do so.
To place “cut loss”, you would be utilising trailing stop limit order, whereby you specify a limit on the maximum possible loss, without setting a limit on the maximum possible gain. So, your sell trailing stop limit moves with the market price, and continually recalculates the stop trigger price at a fixed amount below the market price, based on 90% of the cut loss amount – this is your “trailing” amount. The limit order price is also continually recalculated based on the limit offset. As the market price rises, both the stop price and the limit price rise by the trail amount and limit offset respectively, but if the stock price falls, the stop price remains unchanged, and when the stop price is hit a limit order is submitted at the last calculated limit price.
To place “take profit” orders, you use limit orders which is an order to buy or sell at a specified price or better. The Limit order ensures that if the order fills, it will not fill at a price less favorable than your limit price, but it does not guarantee a fill.
Yes, you can. When you buy, Crea8 will automatically convert from your base currency at the market rate to the non-base currency, the amount needed for settlement only. This would prevent you from incurring a loan in non-base currency. Likewise, when you sell, Crea8 will automatically convert your net proceeds at the market rate from non-base currency back to your base currency.

Settlement occurs when the security or cash proceeds is transferred to your account. Settlement occurs immediately upon execution through our broker partner.

The unrealised gain/loss is the difference between what you paid and the current market value. If you have sold some of your positions in a given strategy, the gain/loss would be realised and added to the total gain/loss. The cost of those sold positions is deducted from the cost used to calculate your current gain/loss.
